All the junior female are strong and tall ( Bistra 71 cm, Tisa 74 cm, Ambra 76 cm) and have perfect bite. They started to change the puppy coat with rough adult hair and the black will become dark grey.

Rarau is a splendid example of what a mioritic shepherd bred for shows should be all about.  He is extremely elegant, has a great posture and he moves like no other. His character is amazing, friendly in general, very gentle with children and without fear.

He is the 2011 club winner (the Alba Iulia dog show 25.09.2011) next to other numerous titles won in the last two years.

Why would I choose to sell such a rewarding dog, especially when for a kennel owner show results are very important? It’s all about the breed and long term thinking. For a while now I’m seeing less and less good males and more with character and anatomical flaws and it’s getting harder for me to find good genetic material outside my line ( sometimes I go in trips of 2-3 days just because I hear about a male somewehere on a mountain or in a city across the country) .

My response for the breed and also for me is to raise in the next years a few excellent males, to have their value confirmed in shows and then let them go. This way I will be able to use their genetic material after 2-3 generations so what’s good for the breed in general is also good for me.  I can’t build enough different blood lines alone so this is my strategy is to enrich the breed and make sure it has a future.

As we promised here a short video with the puppies from Alma and Buzdugan, shot in the same time with the presentation pictures from the previous post. Since then they grew quite a lot. From this litter there are only three females still available, check the previous article to see wich ones.

As you can see from the photos bellow the puppies are very expressive and they grow very quick. Abig part of the litter is already reserved, soon the choices will be made and puppies will be named. In the next few days will post a video with the little mioritics playing in the grass.

Alma gave birth to 12 puppies, 8 females and 4 males, all in De Runc line’s colors, strong and healthy. The picture is taken a day after birth. More coming soon, as they grow.

Remember Pintea? Lower is a picture with him at six month and the words I wrote then ” Pintea promises to grow a very strong, tall and powerful shepherd male. At the age of 6 month he already has 63 cm back height and 75 cm thoracic circumference.” in this article

Pintea’s owner sent me the first picture a few days ago, I think the image speaks for itself and confirms my prediction.

One of the main things that this very powerful breed has over other breeds is its well balanced temperament and based on that, a very relaxed behavior. The breed’s standard talks about a powerful, fearless dog but that doesn’t translate into a aggressive and mindless beast but in a dog that as long as him, his master, and his family are not in any danger is very relaxed and gentle.

The mioritic is excellent with kids and even the dog feels tired and wants to be left alone he will not express that by being aggressive or mean, instead he will try to put some distance between him and the children and if he can’t well, he will surrender and just let them have their way.
